ATLANTA (AP) — Justin Meram scored two goals, Karol Swiderski added a penalty-kick score and Charlotte FC breezed to a 3-1 victory over Atlanta United on Saturday night.Charlotte (4-5-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on a goal by Meram. Ashley Westwood and Jaylin Lindsey picked up assists on Meram’s first goal since scoring in a 2-2 draw with the Colorado Rapids in July of last season while playing for Real Salt Lake.Swiderski’s PK goal came in the 52nd minute following a red card on Atlanta United’s Andrew Gutman. (KDVR) -- A 32-year-old single mom of two from Thornton was diagnosed with breast cancer in February this year.“I felt something like a tiny marble in my left breast then after a mammogram, it turns out it was breast cancer,” Kelsey Kaminky said. "Then they found it was Stage One-B.” Kaminky said just over three weeks later she was sent in to have a double mastectomy in hopes of preventing the cancer from spreading. A fire that broke out at a home in Fort Lauderdale has left seven people without a home and sent two of them to the hospital.Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the blaze along the 1200 block of Northwest 15th Street, just before 3 a.m., Saturday.Crews arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. They were able to put the flames out and search the charred structure.Officials sad all seven people who were inside were able to get out on their own.Paramedics transported two of them to Broward Health Medical Center for smoke and heat-related injuries.“It could have got worse.
